What Steps Should I Take if I was Injured On the Job Due to Negligent Security?

Video Transcript:

If you’re injured on the job due to negligent security and you’re able to, by all means, report the injury to your employer, go see a doctor, and when you call my firm, you tell us this security company was responsible for the security at this location. I’ve got, uh, two women who worked at a Verizon store—it was robbed. The Verizon store was robbed, so this is a unique case in workers’ compensation because it was a psychological claim. They were tied up and like pistol whipped a little bit, and, you know, they both filed workers’ comp claims with us. We handled both claims. The dichotomy between these two people: one person treated for probably 12 to 14 months, seeing a psychologist, going to psychotherapy, the other person treated for about two weeks. Well, there were two separate claims there: the claim for the person who needed, you know, 12 to 16 months of psychological therapy, and, you know, on the couch, literally, person on person and maybe some drug therapies as well—that case probably took two and a half years to get settled. The other person who had a very relatively minor reaction to being robbed took about six months. Neither case went to trial; they both settled. Both persons had very nice settlements, and they both were very happy.
