When we first started, Brad and I did the intake ourselves, and we found a lot of clients were hesitant to hire an attorney. They may call us and ask what their rights are, what they’re entitled to, things like that, but a lot of times they were hesitant to hire an attorney, especially for workers compensation claims. The insurance company’s goal is not there to just give you money. The insurance company at all instances, at all points in a claim, trying to limit their liability. That’s all they want to do. A lot of times the insurance companies when a person does not have an attorney tries to dictate the treatment, tries to dictate care. It’s only when you have that attorney. It’s only when they have someone on their side to tell them no, they’re going to get whatever their doctor prescribes. You hire an attorney to make sure that you get what you’re entitled to. Union members are hesitant by going with an attorney that’s outside of the union. Generally a union member, you know, they get a handbook, they have a business manager that they go to when they have an injury and the, you know, their BA says, “Oh, use this law firm.” But some clients are actually very, very intelligent. They go, “This law firm, you know, 90% of these clients use this law firm and they have a decent recovery, like a regular, it’s a standard recovery.” But it’s those clients who call us, who contact us and say, “I want you to handle my case.” Because they have a sense that something’s a little off. Why am I why would why would my union tell me to handle this case against my own employer? They think something’s off. It’s those clients, I think, that have a better result because we work outside of that type of practice. And the people who call us will get the service they deserve.
