The Illinois Hammer Dworkin and Maciariello law firm began February 1st of 1994. We are at 30 years plus now at our law firm. And when I was a young lawyer starting out at another law firm, I found that we had done such a great job. I had got a following and clients were constantly calling me and they kept saying, “Brad you should really go on your own.” So at that point, of February of 94, I opened my own law firm up. The Illinois Hammer, where did the name come from? When I was a young lawyer in court, the judges would always say, “you’ve hammered them.” And then I thought about it and I said you know what, we want to call the name of our firm The Illinois Hammer. The Hammer really stands for strength, power, justice, dropping the gavel. You always see a judge drop the gavel for justice and we felt that’s what the Hammer signified.
